The Milwaukee Panthers are having a strong start to their young season, as they carry a 9-2 record in non-conference games thus far. Led by sophomore Matt Tiby and senior Jordan Aaron, the Panthers are riding on a five game win streak.
The Panthers recently edged out the Bradley Braves by a score of 73-67. The Braves were leading at halftime, but a strong finish in the second half by Jordan Aaron would prove to be the difference. Aaron scored 9 of the final 13 points, including a couple of big three pointers that gave the Panthers the separation they needed.
The Panthers have certainly turned it around, as the nine wins this season already eclipses their win total from last season, as they were a mere 8-24. However, with the departure of the Butler Bulldogs to the Big East, the Horizon conference is very wide open. And the hot handed Panthers certainly look like a favorite at this present moment to take the conference.
But, how good is this Panthers team? And have they faced enough challenges this season? All questions might be answered on December 11th as the Panthers take on the undefeated, 8th ranked Wisconsin Badgers. This is the Panthers best foe on schedule, and this would certainly be a huge win to have on the resume come March. And despite it being an in-state battle, it’s in the Kohl center, so don’t expect to hear any Panthers chants. Will the Panthers rise to the occasion and grab national attention? Let’s see come December 11th…
