Monday Matchups: Fairleigh Dickinson vs Iowa Hawkeyes

The Iowa Hawkeyes are off to a hot start, as they carry a 9-1 record into tonight’s game against the Fairleigh Dickinson Knights. While the Knights have a measly 3-8 record, they have proved in past games to not be a total pushover, as they have beaten both Rutgers and Seton Hall.  If I’m not mistaken either, the Knights were a near, if not, double digit underdog in those games.

The Hawkeyes however, are a far superior team to that of Rutgers or Seton Hall. Led by senior guard Roy Devyn Marble, the Hawkeyes are averaging 89.3 points per game. In addition, the Hawkeyes have not been playing pushover teams either, which is part of the reason they are ranked #23. They have already defeated the likes of Xavier, UTEP, Notre Dame, and recently Drake. An overtime loss to the now #10th ranked Villanova Wilcats is the only blemish on the record. And that’s nothing to complain about…

The Iowa Hawkeyes should roll tonight in my Monday Matchup game, but don’t be surprised if the hot and cold Farleigh Dickinson Knights show up, and make it halfway competitive…
