Well, the first annual March Sadness is finally over. There were plenty of mistakes, plenty of upsets and I really enjoyed this. Without further ado…
#1 Stetson Hatters (9-22) vs. #7 UT-Pan American Broncs (10-21)
The finals couldn’t of gone any other way, with the 7th seeded UT-Pan American Broncs pulling out the win in double overtime against the top seeded Stetson Hatters. I really wish I would of saved the play by play, but mistakenly forgot to… Anyways, the Hatters offensively did fairly well, shooting 40% from the field. They relied heavily on the three ball though, going 8-23 and could of been better from the charity stripe, finishing 16-25. The Hatters were led by Grant Lozoya (21 points, 5 rebounds), Kentwan Smith (17 points, 11 rebounds) and Divine Myles (15 points, 5 assists). The Broncs on the other hand, used a 52-43 rebound advantage, as well as 22 made free throws to aide their victory. They were led by Janari Joesaar (25 points, 11 rebounds), Dan Kimasa (15 points, 14 rebounds) and Shaquille Hines (15 points, 7 rebounds). With that, the Broncs are the first winner of the annual March Sadness tournament, which helps redeem a team from their terrible year.
