As we draw closer to March Madness, I can’t help but to analyze each conference for teams either worth of an At-large bid or one whom is on the bubble. We start with the America East Conference, which is one of the bottom dwellers in terms of competition within. There are realistically only a handful of teams that even warrant being mentioned, so without further ado…
Best Teams: Stony Brook Seawolves, Albany Great Dane
On The Bubble: None
Note: The Stony Brook Seawolves were once on an 18 game winning streak, as well as earning some votes in the AP rankings. The Albany Great Danes wound up ending all that and the Seawolves chances at possibly being an At-large team. Now, it’s all up to the America East Conference in determining who gets the automatic bid. The Stony Brook Seawolves have been to finals of the conference tournament four of the last five years, never winning. They have also never been to the NCAA Tournament, as the Albany Great Dane have ruled supreme the last three years as the America East representative. With the Stony Brook Seawolves having home court advantage throughout the tournament, it should be interesting to see if they can finally get over the hump.
