As we draw closer to March Madness, I can’t help but to analyze each conference for teams either worth an At-large bid or one whom is on the bubble. Here, I examine the Ohio Valley Conference, which according to KenPom is the 22nd best conference. The Austin Peay Governors have already locked up the conference tournament’s automatic bid, which is very surprising given that they were the 8th seed. The Governors managed to win four games in four days against four of the top teams. They are most likely going to be a “Play-In” team, but I’m sure just being in the NCAA Tournament is that matters.
Best Teams: Belmont Bruins, Morehead St. Eagles, Tennessee St. Tigers, Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles, UT Martin Skyhawks
On The Bubble:
Note: I’m starting to get a feeling that a series of articles about each conference was a bad idea, especially when more than half of the conferences have teams not even close to being considered a bubble team. I apologize to Ohio Valley Conference fans about the rant, but this like many others, do not have a bubble or an At-large worthy team.
